ZFX, INC MAKES SWEEPING CHANGES; UPGRADES SHOP WITH SUPERIOR AMERICAN-MADE HANDMADE HENSON BROOMS

Craftsman logoLouisville, KY – ZFX, Inc, a world-renowned flying effects company, has once again renewed their pledge to outstanding quality; this time by buying handmade brooms from an American broom maker.  Henson Broom Shop has been in the broom business for four generations and is based out of Symsonia, Kentucky.

Why is this worthy of a press release?  “To deliver quality products and services we need to use quality tools.  That means all tools including the ones used to clean up,” says ZFX founder, Robert Dean.  If you say you’re committed to quality then it should mean a real commitment, no cutting corners.

As an employer of American Craftsmen, ZFX appreciates actual quality and it’s a statement of support for other craftsmen and small businesses.  But it’s not a symbolic gesture.  Quality tools last longer because they’re made with pride.  It’s also just a smart purchase.  When you compare a broom made by people who have been making them since 1930 to a crappy plastic broom sold at most stores, the choice is easy.   ZFX expects to enjoy that same longevity.  A true commitment to quality means nothing is swept under the rug.

Governor’s School of the Arts Does Somersaults for ZFX Flying’s Choreography for Mary Poppins

ZFX is teaming up with Norfolk, Virginia’s Governor’s School of the Arts to bring flying effects to the school’s production of Mary Poppins. The Governor’s School of the Arts offers arts training for 130 students in a conservatory-style setting and their production of Mary Poppins will feature a set from Broadway designer David Korins and inventive new flying choreorgraphy from ZFX—including a 110-foot fly-out over the audience, and a “Step in Time” number that features acrobatic somersaulting choreography.

ZFX, INC AND GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS JOIN FORCES TO BRING AN INNOVATIVE PERFORMANCE OF MARY POPPINS TO THE STAGE

Norfolk, VA – ZFX, Inc, who provides performer flying services that cover the full spectrum from Broadway to your neighborhood high school, will be bringing flying effects and lots of experience along when they partner up with the cast and crew at Norfolk Virginia’s Governor’s School for the Arts for an exciting performance of Mary Poppins May 23-25, 2014.

Norfolk Virginia’s Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA), established in 1987, offers premiere arts training in six departments: Dance, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, Theater & Film, Visual Arts and Vocal Music. Each department trains students to develop in their art form with a focus on conservatory style study. Admission is competitive and includes an audition. Each year about 600 students apply for approximately 130 available spots.

Mary Poppins set designer David Korins, a New York based scenic and production designer for theatre, film, opera, television, concerts and festivals as well and residential and commercial spaces, has Broadway credits that include Motown, Bring It On and Annie.

Chip Gallagher, GSA Department Chair who has been involved with GSA for twenty four years, says this performance of Mary Poppins will offer the audience some unexpected flying effects, “Mary’s grand exit at the end of the show will involve a 110 ‘fly out’ over the audience” Chip told us. The show will also feature somersaulting choreography to the popular song, Step in Time” versus the more common proscenium walk.
